Nach Installation bekomme ich folgende Meldung:

PHP 4 is not supported, switch to PHP 5
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/www/doc/8142/fc-inselusedom.de/www/administrator/components/com_joomleague/classes/RRobin.class.php on line 29

For those of us that use 0.93 and have PHP4 only, is there a way to get the changes avialable in 0.93b?  Or is support for Joomleague with PHP4 dropped as of version 0.93b?

I got the same problem but when I asked my webhotel Oderland I got this answer: (I have tried to translated it from swedish)

"On our PHP4 servrer you can use both PHP4 and PHP5. To use PHP5 you add this line in your .htaccess file. To see pointfiles? (not sure if this is translated right) in the cPanels filemanager you must select "Show hidden files" in the popupframe when you click on the Filemanager.

AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 .php .php5 .phtml

I did so and after that 93b worked fine, maybe it will do the same for you. It´s worth a try :)

Is it the .htaccess file under the main joomla instalation root you did modify? Because when I did it my site did not work anymore and yes I now that my server provider support PHP5.

Are you using Joomla 1.0.X or Joomla 1.5.x?  I'm using Joomla 1.0.X and I'm worried that if I do this, this means i'll beusing PHP5 intead of PHP4 for all .php files and Joomla will stop working all together...

No worries. Joomla itself (both versions) will run fine on PHP5.
Just some older third party modules and components can give some trouble.

Hm.. I am using joomla 1.0.15 and ijoomla news portal, but when I tid try the previous .htaccess thing nothing did work.
The problem is that when I try to enter the site from both front and backend I got a error about in what program I want to load the page or something like that.

Setting up PHP5 like that is not ideal.
How it can and should be done depends on the configuration of your provider.
There is no standard solution.
More about the subject can be found here: http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=100045

For performance reasons alone it's best to move to a proper PHP5 server.

Just ask you provider.

:help: :whistling:
