Divisions

Postby laboral.php » Sun Apr 13, 2008 1:24 pm

How can I activate divisions??? I believe that i read that 0.92 have the capability of manage divisions.

I'm using JL for a Hockey Association who has 5 divisions (A, B, C , D and E). There are 9 clubs that participate in all divisions and 3 clubs participate in some divisions only (C, D and E).

Must I create a project for each division and repeat the clubs info in each one or exist a better way to do this???

Thanks in advance

Pablo

Hi Pablo,

Not sure if I'm 100% right.. But you could try this:

Create your divisions using the Leagues menu rather than projects (create just one project)
Then create your clubs with teams. You can then assign teams in each division (leagues) from then on.

Hope this helps.

divisions in joomleague are to be understood as divisions within a same "level".
An example is the nba, all teams belong to the same league and play each other, but are part of conference, then of divisions.
Another example is the groups in the football europeean champion's league.

If the team of your divisions will not play against each other, and you don't have to have stats comparision between the players, create separate project. If the divisions are indeed art of same competition, create a "project with division" (from the project creation form. THen, selecting this project, you'' get a "divisions" menu item on the left).

JulienV - when you say
create a "project with division" (from the project creation form. THen, selecting this project, you'' get a "divisions" menu item on the left).
.  I do not see anything regarding Divisions.  Am I missing something?

Thanks  :)

Figured this out.  Here's my solution to hopefully help others.  In Project Configuration under the General section, change "Project type" to "League with Divisions"

Cheers

Is there a front end link for Divisions so you can see each divisions standings all on one page?

------------------------------------------
FIGURED THIS ONE OUT.  I'm better of waiting longer before I post my questions  :p  Anyway, for those of you who are looking for this info:

Select your Project
Choose Templates
Edit "Table" (show_table.tpl)
In Divisions Options, change Default View from Project, to Sub Level1.

Hope this helps.

JulienV - think this post is worth making a sticky in the How To section?

You read my mind.  I was going to ask about getting access to the Wiki  :)

-------------------------------------------------

Wiki has been updated: http://www.joomleague.de/wiki/project:templates

Also added a section under "Definition of Terms" http://www.joomleague.de/wiki/administration:start

fine, i think there's no restriction for registered users at all... maybe one's got to wait 4 publishing by an admin but that's all i can imagine... so have fun in wiki (right besides FORUM link) ;) and thnx 4 all users in advance...  :)

Thanks to developers for component!

Sorry for my English.
I've 4 Divisions with 4 commands in each of them. In league result table should be Divisions' leaders at rankings 1-4 and other commands under then leaders.

In advance, thanks
