Photo not showing

Postby Astaroth » Thu Oct 04, 2007 1:32 am

My player photos aren't showing up.  They're all set properly, but all I get is lastname firstname then on the next line firstname lastname.

Oddly enough though the placeholders for players who don't have photos show up just fine....

Photos on the squad and player profiles work fine, but photos on the random player module don't (i've disabled it for the moment)

Done.  Site is live though so rather not leave it up too long while it's not working...

I copied the module and set two different teams.  The top team players have no image assigned, the bottom ones do.

Alright now I've done that it's working for one of my players.  I'll see if there's any difference in the setup for this player...

EDIT: Checked the backend for differences between the setup of players, there's nothing.  Images are the same in both 'Players' link from menu and links to players from Project>Teams.

EDIT2: Now it's working for a couple of players and not for others!

Maybe I spoke too soon...

One guy's photo has stopped working (after working a couple of times).  His definitely has no backslash.

Hmm this is buggin me a bit :)

EDIT: Now two photos not working, others are fine.  The code looks like this:

Code: Select all

<a href="http://www.wcpirates.com.au/index.php?option=com_joomleague&func=showPlayer&p=1&pid=2&Itemid=1">
<img src="http://www.wcpirates.com.au/" border="0" alt="Gavin, Jordan" title="Gavin, Jordan" /></a><br />

The problem is that the script does not write the path to the picture.  ^-^
Maybe you can set the path to the image of the player to nothing and save it, then write the path again.

You must be right, doesn't seem to have anything to do with the backslashes now.  Just not saving properly sometimes.  I added the backslashes again for the two players and they worked this time, but I removed them again and they continued to work.

Oddly though I've had NO problems with the showPlayers screen, just this module.  Seems alright now though and hopefully won't be too much of a drama in the future..

Hello.

I finded bug.

Then we put picture by Admin panel->JoomLeague->Players->Edit

and write after http://SITE URL/ path to picture, engine write this picture path to table #__joomleague_players->default_picture

BUT. Random player Module get a picture from base #__joomleague_playertool->picture but there is clear. I don't know how to put here picture maybe you knows.

But i maked to get picture from #__joomleague_players->default_picture FOR THAT YOU NEED:

1. Open mod_joomleague_random_player.php
2. Find "pt.picture and" replace to "pl.default_picture"
3. Replace all "$rows[0]->picture" to "$rows[0]->default_picture"

Ok. That all. Work good.

Hopefully my last problem!

Like others my module works apart from showing the players pictures and data.

If you access the players via the squad links they work fine, any ideas what I am doing wrong?

maybe you use names with non conform letters... ?

evil is " " (empty) ä, ö, ü, ß and many other language specific letters... because most servers like apache (not running on windows) are interested in how names of images are spelled... and if (as a webmaster) you check if a file likes 'öä ü´dnr&%.jpg' exists, php says no because it doesn't know the letters...

i told that lmo developers years ago but they didn't change anything untill now, so this might be a burden until even lmo users learn:
umlauts, empty and special chars really suck if a programmer checks if file exists before outputting image....

I have problems displaying pictures form Random Player module. I the backend i have set it up right am sure about this because in the "showplayer" the picture loads fine.

I think it has something to do with this:

Code: Select all

<?php if (isset($player->picture)): ?>
<img src="<?php echo $mosConfig_live_site . '/'.$picture->picture;?>"
     border="0"
     alt="<?php echo $name; ?>"
     title="<?php echo $name; ?>" />
<?php endif; ?>

The output looks like this: http://www.mysite.com/ Seems like the '/'.$picture->picture;?>" does not taka action ???

Please help

My setup:
Joomla 1.5
Joomleague 0.93
Joomleague Random player 0.93b

Joomleague Backend --> Choose a project --> Click on "Teams" in the project --> Choose the team you want to display photos of --> Now check all players one by one in that team by clicking on their names. If the players have a * sign near the photos you have to click SAVE. Until you do that you won't get the pictures shown.
