Permissions/User Rights: Hidden features

Postby vikingX » Fri Sep 30, 2016 12:34 am

Found another problem:
I have two different users, one joomla super user and one joomla administrator (called gameticker) with full rights for joomleague component but none for all the other components.

Unfortunately some of the buttons are missing if rank is only administrator, even with all the settings allowed for joomleague:
Super User

Administrator (gameticker)

--> Save Button is missing, so no results can be stored this way..

Super User

Administrator (gameticker)

Here save and close and cancel buttons are missing so you can save but you dont get back to the overview.

all permissions are given for joomleague, but seems like parent group administrator has some defaults less than super user.. could you please modify?

I can confirm this problem on my installations, only one superuser can modify it.
Most probably a bug, and even one hitting a core functionality, unless we misconfigured something ;-)

And_One and others, would you take into consideration a sponsored bug solving?
What if we could pay for the permission bug to be solved in the near future?

Any ideas on that? And_One, which file would have to be modified?

VikingX, I don't know if it's a single file, it could well be spread over many helpers and controllers under administrator\components\com_joomleague
I'm sorry I cannot help you with this, I hope And_One could at least answer...
I think it's a matter of finding a willing developer, that's why I was asking if a monetary contribution could improve the chances of this bug to be solved...

I've also tried using ACLmanager to exclude any config error by my side, but it didn't work with administrator.
Then tried with a new user group and there's no way to give users rights to use Joomleague.

Hello,
How about frontend editing ?
Couldn't it be as friendly as Joom*Sport :help:

Hi, I didn't even know it was possible, but I checked and there's no way to enable a frontend editing...
it would be more than enough if it could work on backend :-)

Of course it's possible :)

when you're logged in (frontend) go to results view, you'll have an icon to (edit) results right of the tour's name.

It's just that it loads the backend view in a popup. and it's not as user-friendly as it should be.

more info about that feature in wiki : http://wiki.joomleague.at/doku.php?id=doc:frontend

Thank you malekdz, I managed to see the edit icon on results page (registered as super user), but once I click on it I get this error:

Code: Select all

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ORDER BY text ASC' at line 9 SQL=SELECT   pt.id AS value, t.name AS text, t.short_name AS short_name, t.notes FROM #__joomleague_team AS t LEFT JOIN #__joomleague_project_team AS pt ON pt.team_id = t.id WHERE pt.project_id = ORDER BY text ASC

Then tried with other users, admin and not, and tried to manage permissions with acl manager 2.5, but nothing happened to improve the situation...
Would you be so kind to describe what you did to allow a user rights to modify results from frontend?

Then I tried with another installation and , despite being on MySQL, this error

Code: Select all

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near 'ORDER BY text ASC' at line 9 SQL=SELECT   pt.id AS value, t.name AS text, t.short_name AS short_name, t.notes FROM #__joomleague_team AS t LEFT JOIN #__joomleague_project_team AS pt ON pt.team_id = t.id WHERE pt.project_id = ORDER BY text ASC

refers to MariaDB, which I am not using...

Hello,
I'm really sorry for this late late late answer.
I didn't login since a long time, I just checked that I got notifications. Well, I edited forum options to send emails.

And to answer, I'm on Joomla 3 so, can't help you with 2.5.

Try to upgrade (you should)
