Unfortunately there is no routine for it and there is also no official release available. but if you want to test out the 3.0.1 package then that's possible. If you have the 2.93.239.x version installed then it's relative easy to use the data you had.
- there haven't been table changes between 3.0.1 and 2.93.239 so there shouldn't be a problem
- if you did tweak you're css/modules/pages etc then do back them up.

//
always make a backup!

Sorry if an intrusion. I'll say as I did:

Since Joomla 2.5:
- Make backup with Akeeba backup.
- Turn off all components and modules.
- Upgrade to the latest Joomla version 3.x.x
- Backup with akeeba bakcup (this is for if you have any problems do not turn the whole process again from Joomla 2.5)
- Update each of the components and modules (JoomLeague 3.0.1, Slidershow, etc ...)

I would recommend that every time you update a component or module, to activate it and see it work well, make a backup so that if you get problems do not always start from 0.

I use the latest JL 2.5. version and following the progress for developent of JL 3.0, which i really appreciate.

I didn't install the current Joomla 3x Version, since JL would be an essential part of my site.

I know it's not an official release so far, but can you give me an idea, if it's worth a try to use the current JL-test version in Joomla 3? Sure there will be some bugs left, but all in all, does it work so far?

Would say the best thing would be to:
install Wampserver: http://www.homeandlearn.co.uk/php/php1p3.html on your computer so you can test locally if the component working as you would expect.

As you can see in the forum there are several bugs around, they can be addressed and hopefully someone can fix the bugs.
