Problems with date format in Spanish

Postby figueiridocf » Wed Sep 04, 2013 1:07 pm

Hello friends:

After performing JoomLeague upgrades from version 0.93 to 1.6 and finally to version 2.0.93, including Joomla upgrade from version 1.5.25 to 2.5.14.

Only I have this little problem with the dates of the matches.

Old Site JL 0.93 Date format OK.

New Site JL 2.0.93 BAD Date format (07.09.AM)

Can you give me module or script that I have to edit to change it?
What is the correct format for dates in Spanish?

Thank you very much.

EN ESPAÑOL

Problemas con el formato de las fechas:
Hola amigos:

Old Site JL 0.93 Date format OK.

New Site JL 2.0.93 BAD Date format (07.09.AM)

¿me podeis decir en que módulo o script tengo que editar para cambiarlo?
¿cual es el formato correcto para las fechas en español?

Muchas gracias.

check your spanish language file in joomla_root/languages/es-ES/es-ES.com_joomleague.ini

and change

COM_JOOMLEAGUE_GLOBAL_CALENDAR_DATE="d.m.A"
to
COM_JOOMLEAGUE_GLOBAL_CALENDAR_DATE="d.m.Y"

Thank you Heart:

All right,
I edit the file in joomla_root/languages/es-ES/es-ES.com_joomleague.ini, and replace in the following line
COM_JOOMLEAGUE_GLOBAL_CALENDAR_DATE = "d.m.Y"

But how and where to change the second date?

Should appear (Day of the week, day month year) in this case Saturday, September 7, 2013

I leave images of the 2 versions of JL

and to give a little bit of side-info about the change in date format:

think it has to do with the strftime & date format functions of PHP and that's why you're running into it now.
- the JL version for Joomla 1.5+ was using the PHP Strftime format
- the one for the new Joomla version is using the PHP Date format
Help can be asked in the forum

correct... so all the translators out there should check their languages on transifex ;)

(english and german should always be correct and can be used as reference)
