jlg-import error message "Umbenennen fehlgeschlagen!!!"

Postby DiBa42 » Sat Jun 23, 2012 11:45 pm

Dear all,
first of all - thanks to the joomleague team - you did a great job with Joomeleague 1.6

I have one Problem: when using the xml import (on my web server) I get the message Umbenennen fehlgeschlagen!!! (rename did not work).
I have the following configuration: Joomla 1.5.26 and joomleague v1.6.0.560c1dc

I tried with two jlg-files:
one created with Joomleague 1.5.x beta under Joomla 1.5.23 (running local under xampp)
one after updating Joomla and joomleague to the same versions as on the server (1.5.26 ad 1.6) and created from the same project...

I assume a chmod problem on my server - but I have no idea which folder I have to give which chmod to allow renaming... Is there any other tmp folder than the one of joomla (which works as I used it recently for some updates/installations).. Importing on the local machine works fine!

Hope someone can help me.
Thanks
Dirk

Additional inforamtion:
the uploaded jlg-files in the tmp folder have chmod 644 while other subfolders have 755 (as the tmp folder)..
I changed it for an already uploaded jlg-file to 755, but as I have to upload again, it changes back to 644 by uploading.... is there any other way, to import the jlg-files or to change settings somewhere to get it done??
I hope someone has a hint what I can try further.
Thanks and regards
Dirk

Ok, found it by myself - looks like a "feature" ;)
Upload works fine as long as the imported filename ist exactly "joomleague_import.jlg"....

Probably a routine tries to rename the uploaded file (if not uploaded with the name joomleague_import.jlg) but is refused to do so by some access right restrictions... this explains the error message "renaming failed".
Its just - if you have e. g. several projects set up locally and want now to bring it to the life page (by export & import) it would be easier if one could save the xml files with the project name as file name...

If it is not a feature I would be glad if you could put it to the bug list...
I have added a sentance to the WIKI.

Thanks anyway for your work,
best regards
Dirk

i have uploaded several different project files with various names, so thats not true that the name have to be what you mentioned. i think it is just a permission problem on your filesystem. it works perfect on my dev and production site (both linux)
